The Hungarian Language Teacher Training Faculty in Subotica, University of Novi Sad is celebrating 150 years of teacher training in Subotica. On that occasion an international scientific conference will be held under the title
 Sustainable Cultural Heritage.

Date of conference: November 4–6, 2021

Location: Hungarian Language Teacher Training Faculty, Subotica, Strossmayer str. 11, Serbia.

Since its foundation, the Hungarian Language Teacher Training Faculty in Subotica hasupheld the tradition of organizing an international scientific conference every year. Within the framework of the conferencescientific work and sections have been classified according to different scientific interests of the participants. Namely, three categories have been established: interdisciplinary, methodological andICT tools in education. This year, the conference has been also divided into different sections, but all of themare related to one topic: sustainable cultural heritage.

Cultural heritage has become a prominent idea in scientific discourses in recent years, creating an autonomous interdisciplinary research field. As a complex category, it appears in many different contexts, however, there is a common ground for its uniform definition: namely, the text of the UNESCO convention upon cultural and natural world heritage from 1972 defines the terms of cultural and natural heritage, emphasizing the values related to themand promotingprograms of education, this wayraising public awareness upon these issues.

An important achievement in the protection of cultural heritage is a convention ratified by the UNESCO in 2003, which regulates the protection of tangible as well as intangible cultural heritage, together with the protection of natural heritage. According to the definition within this convention, intangible cultural heritage is every „...tradition, representation, articulation, knowledge, skill – as well as tools, objects, pieces of art and cultural locations related to these –, which are acknowledged as part of cultural heritage of a community, group or individuals. This intangible cultural heritage transferred from one generation to another – continually reproducted by communities and groups responding to their history, as well as their relation to their surroundings and natural environment – gives people their identity and the sense of continuity, that way promoting and creating respect for cultural variety and human creativity.”

This years conference is aiming to approach the idea of sustainable cultural heritage from various aspects in different scientific fields.Concerning the conference lectures, with regard to tangible and intangible cultural and natural heritage, first of all, we would like to learn about how the usage (recycling) of knowledge about cultural heritage promotes and helps sustainability in ecology, society and economy.

We invite presentations of research papers, case studies and good practices in the following scientific fields:
